Every member story, and how we measure

How it works

Why are you boxing? Pick one

The first class is the same for everyone: stance, guard and the jab. After that, your coach plans for what you want from it.

Fitness and fat loss

Two classes a week of bag rounds, pad work and conditioning. Hard work that doesn’t feel like a treadmill.

12 weeks

  1. Class 1

    Stance, guard and the jab

    What happens
How to stand, move and throw without hurting your wrists.
    How we do it
Hand wraps on, coach beside you, light bag work only.
  2. Weeks 1–4

    Combinations on the bag

    What happens
Jab, cross, hook in short rounds with rest.
    How we do it
Rounds start at 1 minute and build to 2.
  3. Weeks 5–12

    Pads and conditioning

    What happens
Pad rounds with a coach, skipping and core work.
    How we do it
Pair boxing with strength days for fat loss; boxing alone burns energy but doesn’t build much strength.

What to expect

  • Sore shoulders in week one
  • Three-minute rounds by week 12
  • Pair with the calorie calculator if fat loss is the goal

Learn it as a skill

For people who want to box properly: technique, defence and ring movement, at your own pace.

16 weeks

  1. Weeks 1–4

    Fundamentals

    What happens
Footwork, the four basic punches, blocking and slipping.
    How we do it
Drills in front of the mirror, then on the bag.
  2. Weeks 5–10

    Defence and counters

    What happens
Slip, roll and counter on the pads.
    How we do it
The coach throws slow, controlled shots at the pads for you to slip.
  3. Weeks 11–16

Technical sparring, if you want it

    What happens
    Light, controlled rounds with headgear.
    How we do it
Only when your coach says your defence is ready, and only if you ask.

What to expect

  • Technique before power
  • Sparring is optional, always
  • A mouthguard and your own gloves by month two

Compete

For people aiming at inter-club bouts. Four sessions a week, sparring, and a coach in your corner.

6 months or more

  1. Month 1

    Assessment

    What happens
    Technique, fitness and sparring readiness.
    How we do it
Your coach decides with you whether a first bout is realistic and when.
  2. Months 2–5

    Fight camp

    What happens
Sparring, conditioning and strength twice a week.
    How we do it
Weight is managed slowly, never by dehydration.
  3. Month 6+

    First bout

    What happens
    An inter-club or novice bout.
    How we do it
A medical check and the federation’s rules first.

  • A medical check before any bout
  • Hard sparring is planned, never random
  • No weight cutting by sauna or fasting

  • Row of heavy bags hanging in a boxing room
    Bag rounds
  • Boxer wrapping their hands before training
    Wraps on, every class
  • Boxing ring on a wooden floor with bags along the walls
    Pad work and ring movement

Questions

Boxing classes: your questions

Still unsure? Message a coach on WhatsApp. Real person, usually within 10 minutes.

I’ve never boxed. Can I join a class?

Yes. Most people start with no experience. The first class covers stance, guard and the jab, and the coach stays with beginners.

Do I have to spar?

No. Sparring is only by choice, and only when your coach says your defence is ready.

What do I need to bring?

Sportswear, trainers, a towel and water. Gloves and wraps are available to borrow for your first classes.

Is boxing good for losing weight?

It is good conditioning and burns energy. Weight loss still depends on food, so pair classes with a calorie target and strength days.

Are classes mixed?

Yes, men and women train together, and a woman trainer is available on request.

How much are boxing classes?

Classes are included in Gym + classes (NPR 6,000 a month) or NPR 800 for a single class.
